From THE ART NEWSPAPER NEWSLETTER New Art Law Courses A series of six interactive study days will be held in central London starting 19 November. Attendance at a minimum of four study days will lead to a Certificate of Attendance; and the new Diploma in Art Law Policy and Management will be awarded to candidates who attend four study days and complete three written assignments. Speakers at the study days will be experienced practitioners and academics from the fields of law, government, museum practice and insurance.
The first study day will examine 'Art Crime', and speakers will include Professor Norman Palmer (Barrister, Chair, Illicit Trade Advisory Panel), Kevin Chamberlain (Barrister, former legal adviser Foreign Office), Ian Snaith (Solicitor, University of Leicester), Dick Ellis (Art Management Group, formerly Scotland Yard) and Simon Mackenzie (Keele University). Subsequent study days will discuss 'Art and Civil Recovery', 'Cultural Objects and Public Policy', 'Claims Management' and much more.
