Rome - Archaeological News: President of Italy, Hon. Giorgio Napolitano, visits and inaugurates the new museum in the Palazzo Valentini of Rome. (03/12/2009).
Today in Rome, President of Italy, the Honorable Giorgio Napolitano, along with other Italian officials, unveiled the newest archaeological discoveries dating from 2nd thru 4th century A.D., below the 16th century Palazzo Valentini (the site of the Provisional Government of Rome). Today, the archaeological site after being excavated periodically since March 2005, by Dr. Paola Baldassarre reveals the location of a Roman luxery complex of 1,800 square-meter (2,000 square-yard) with mosaics, porticos and several thermals baths. The ancient complex will be open to the public from Friday through Jan. 6, before closing again for further explorations.
